With the remarkable growth of technology in the age of communications, the world is witnessing unexpected and new changes and developments In such a situation, modern man is trapped in a siege of the media, in such a way that his ontological position is on the verge of oblivion. Meanwhile, however, the call of Islam is a renewed call to self, and the arena of Islamic civilization in the present era claims to redefine the world with all the signs emanating from monotheism. In this world, art has a special place and mission. It should be noted that art today is considered the cultural capital and authority of every society, it is also counted among the pillars of this civilization, along with science. Today, Islamic Iran, as a pioneer in the fields of science and art, seeks to establish art and civilization stemming from Islamic teachings in a new form and has been recreating and formulating on this basis.
The term "Islamic art" has become an established term to refer to the creation of works based on Islamic thought and culture and within the heart of Islamic society. Although the use of the term "Islamic art" refers to a scientific discipline that has been formed since the late 19th and early 20th centuries, on the margins of the mainstream of Orientalism, archaeology, and European and American collecting, and the type of study that is conducted in it has its roots in Western studies, in many cases, this term has been used to refer to the artistic creations of Islamic civilization, and the audience's mind is directed to art that serves Islamic teachings, and this is a guiding principle in the situation of Islam in today's world.
Given today's Islamic Iran's focus on placing religion at the center and core of the intellectual system, the expansion of scientific and artistic productions and numerous researches in the field and subject of Islamic art can lead to the comprehensive compilation and configuration of art in the Islamic world. Although today, in addition to numerous research in various branches related to Islamic culture and art, university disciplines and academic chairs have been established in different parts of the world on this subject, it should not be forgotten that such an expansion leads to different and sometimes different interpretations of what Islamic art is and makes it difficult to provide a precise definition of Islamic art, just as in the present era, the issue of what Islamic art is and determining its limits and boundaries is a controversial matter, and ultimately, it cannot yet be claimed that a comprehensive definition of the nature of Islamic art has been achieved today.
To this end, the journal of Islamic Art Negareh, relying on academic and scientific background and support, strives to provide a definition of what Islamic art is and introduce the works and scope of influence of Islamic art. At first glance, it may seem that a title such as Islamic Art for a scientific journal can be too broad and detract from the focus of a scientific structure. However, it should be noted that despite the wide range of areas that are relevant in Islamic art, including Islamic wisdom, philosophy, and mysticism, and its reflection and impact on Islamic art, as well as the various manifestations and manifestations of Islamic art and its types, as well as the practical and applied aspects of this art, all of these can be controversial in creating focal points in the present journal, but it should be noted that despite the breadth of the field and the diversity of topics that cover a wide range, there is a point of unity in all this diversity, and that is the word Islam, which when connected to art, expresses the point that the subject of the present publication is art that originates from the monotheistic culture of Islam and, despite all the thematic diversity, is considered the axis and connecting link of Islamic art. On the other hand, it should be noted that this broad subject area can provide the opportunity for researchers in different fields of Islamic art to participate in different situations and nationalities, and in this way, a basis can be provided for creating communication and creating a space for achieving consensus and convergence in broader horizons. At first, such a plan for launching a journal may seem a bit idealistic, but it is obvious that without an idealistic outlook, a clear picture cannot be drawn for the future path of any activity.
In conclusion, it is hoped that by welcoming thinkers and researchers to write articles related to Islamic art, there will be a space for expression of dynamic ideas and will formulate the position of this art in the present era.
